Welcome to the Evolution Simulator! Observe simple organisms as they evolve.

Controls:

• Click on an organism: Spectate it & view genetic makeup in the side panel. Camera will follow.
• Click on empty space: Adds food & stops spectating.
• Mouse Wheel: Zoom.
• Genes in Side Panel: Click a gene to find and spectate another organism with similar genetic traits.

Environment:

• Sunny Salty Zone: The yellow zone is home to UV radiation that increases the chances of genetic mutations. Food is less nutritious in this area.
• Husk Dispensers: Natural food sources that shoot out husks for scavengers to feast on. Husks now collide with walls.

Gene Definitions:

• Hue: Organism's color.
• Base Size: Fundamental size.
• Duplication Rate: Affects asexual reproduction frequency. Higher rate slightly reduces initial lifespan.
• Flagella: Number of flagella, increasing speed.
• Hostility: Causes organism to eat living matter.
• Sight Range: How far it can see.
• Fear: Flee from larger hostile organisms. (Fear aura is always visible when fleeing)
• Predator: Drive to hunt other organisms.
• Complexity: Number of cells, affects strength.
• Scavenger: Attracted to husks (dead matter).
• Salt Tolerance: Reduces negative effects of salt regions.
• Salt Avoidance: Actively moves away from salt.
• Plasmodium: Emits goo to detect husks.
• Wall Attraction: Stays near walls.
• Herd Mentality: Seeks other herd organisms.
• Egg Layer: Lays eggs that hatch later. Egg size is now based on parent's size. Eggs are more egg-shaped!
• Dwelling: Returns to birth location when well-fed.
• Mycelium: Forms networks, sharing resources. New mycelial organisms are born with the network's average TTL.
• Pathfinding: Navigates around walls better.
• Starvation: Prioritizes food when life is critically low. If no food is visible, may enter a "mad dash".
• Curiosity: Larger strides during random movement.
• Breeding: Reproduces sexually (needs partner).
• Mating Ritual: Attracted to genetically similar breeders.
• Litters: Breeding organisms can have multiple offspring per reproduction.
• Anticannibalism: Predators avoid hunting/eating organisms with very similar genetic makeup (hue).
